The Ohakune Experience
Arrive in our little slice of paradise and undertake a short walk just off the Ohakune Mountain Road. We suggest the Waitonga Falls walk (4kms) or the Mangawhero loop forest walk (3kms). Then drive up the mountain road to the base of the Turoa ski field and experience the epic views of the surrounds - on a good day you can even see Mt Taranaki!

Visit Opus Fresh based at the train station and enjoy some tasty beverages while perusing the fabulous locally designed and NZ made merino clothing. Then take an easy 20 minute stroll to the start of the Disc Golf course and spend an hour or so completing the 9-holes - don't forget to record your results at udisc.com to join the leaderboard!
When you return you will be ready for a soak in the delightful Ohakune Hot Tubs. Just 1 minute from Kings, these outdoor wood fired hot tubs are set in private surrounds and are filled fresh water each use. A perfect way to unwind after a day of activities.
Return to Kings and enjoy a tasty mead or craft beer made locally by the Ohakune Brewers team, while taking in the wonderful view of Mt Ruapehu from our large deck. Sample the delicious menu designed by our locally renown head chef and later retire to your room just metres away from the restaurant.
